Kraft launches the Triple Double Oreo cookie; combined chocolate, vanilla creme layers
Kraft Foods, headquartered in Northfield, Illinois, has introduced the Triple Double Oreo, which combines a layer of vanilla cream, a layer of chocolate cream and the three familiar chocolate wafers.
Kraft's Nabisco unit, headquartered n East Hanover, New Jersey, will launch television advertising featuring Shaquille O'Neal, Eli Manning, Venus Williams and Apolo Ohno in early September.
Nabisco's plant in Chicago, is a 1,800,000-square-foot production facility at 7300 S. Kedzie Avenue, and is the largest bakery in the world. Nabisco opened corporate offices as the National Biscuit Company in the world's first skyscraper, known as the Home Insurance Building in the Chicago Loop in 1898.

In 1993 Kraft General Foods acquired NABISCO ready-to-eat cold cereals from RJR Nabisco.
In 1999 Nabisco acquired Favorite Brands International
In 2000 Philip Morris Companies, Inc. acquired Nabisco and merged it with Kraft Foods, Inc.
In 2011Kraft Foods announced it was splitting off the snack company as a separate business.
Oreo is the world's best-selling cookie by sales. In Asia there is a green tea filling version instead of a vanilla cream version.
